OSC Challenge Matches
OSC Challenge Matches have been running since 2013. If you haven’t heard of these before, they’re 1v1 showmatches with osc points as prizes. Players challenge a rival, and if the opponent agrees, they each bet an agreed upon total of OSC Points from their season earnings, winner takes all! Challenge Matches act a unique way to quickly leapfrog up the ranks, earning yourself more points by taking away an opponents. One rises, one falls!
In 2017, we also introduced weekly Challenge Matches with $ incentives to be won (currently on hiatus)! We have a dedicated channel on our OSC discord server where you can express interest or ask questions.
Weekly $ Challenge Matches (Currently on hiatus / replaced by OSC Elite Rewards Club Challenge Matches)
We feel Challenge Matches often under utilized until late in seasons, so starting in August 2017, to encourage an increase in the frequency of Challenge Matches, we will be adding a minimum of $40 USD prize to the winner of a series and $10 USD to the loser, with chance to boost $’s higher through Matcherino crowd funding! (With the addition of $ incentives, we will be removing previous bonus point incentives).
We will be running 3 of these Challenge Matches back to back, planned timeslot is Tues 6pm PST (Wed 10 am KST, 3am CEST). Given how player availability may change by travel, major events, and timezones, these matches can be done in advance, and be casted by replay, if approved and observed by the OSC Challenge Match manager Ascarecrow or another OSCesports team member. Players also don’t always have to specify a rival, they can nominate interest in participating to Ascarecrow, who will approve and setup the 3 weekly matches. Draven will be the regular caster covering this series.

Rules:
- Players can challenge each other to show matches and put their points on the line. Minimum points a challenge must start at is 75 each, Max 250. <150 Points = Bo5, >250 Points = Bo7.
- If you’re interested in participating in a OSC challenge, you may select any player from the current OSC rankings with 75+ points. However, please note, the challenges must be somewhat balanced, eg a GPD player won’t be able to challenge a top GM. The idea is to verse a rival/peer, so that person should be somewhat close in skill/league proximity to yourself. This also acts to prevent any OSC point ‘donations’/giving points away cheaply.
- No challenge matches between teammates.
- To setup a challenge, contact your rival, set a bet total, eg 75 points each, and arrange a showmatch! Contact one of the OSC Managers to see if your match is eligible, and confirm again once all is sorted.
- You can turn down any challenge with no repercussion/change to your season points. However no guts, no glory!
- $ Bounties can’t be claimed in Challenge Matches
