OSC League

The OSC StarCraft 2 League runs from early January through to mid December every year.

Within that yearly season ourselves and our partners create several hundred competitive cash tournaments for the global player base.

Players earn points from participating in these tournaments, placing highly, and by winning various bonuses and challenges.

The resulting tournament data is regularly updated to establish the SC2 World Rankings.

The World Rankings also serve as a seeding system and yearly record of results.

Prior to commencing a new season, we run the prestigious Annual World Championship, where all participants from the recent season can battle to be crowned the sports champion for the year.

A history of past champions and record holders can be viewed in the SC2 Hall of Fame.

Upcoming: Season 13 (2025) Championship, January 2026

Annual World Championship

The Annual World Championship format has evolved and been updated a few times since its inception in 2012. We always welcome and seek player feedback, while actively collaborating with our partners to ensure the Championship reflects the immense scope of the yearly season.
See below for the current format.

Current Format (Est 2025):

The Championship Bracket features the top 32 players of the year. There are 3 pathways to qualify.

How Qualification + Seeding Works:

1. Mid Season Playoffs

Championship Bracket Seeds #3 + #4 are awarded to the years 2 Mid Season Playoffs (MSP’s) Champions.

Seed #3 will be awarded to the higher ranked player from the World Rankings.

MSP’s are giant double elimination brackets open to all OSC Elite Rewards Club (OSCE) members and Guest Pass holders.

Every game is broadcast, thus MSP’s run over multiple months, resulting in the World Championship maintaining a continuous narrative throughout the calendar year.

Players have increased flexibility with scheduling to ensure everyone can participate and perform at their best.

If a MSP Champion also finishes the season ranked #1 or #2 in the World Rankings, they take the higher seeding, resulting in their MSP seed becoming void, and all other upper bracket players are advanced a place.

2. Seeded into the Upper Bracket:

Seeds #1 + #2 are awarded to the 1st + 2nd ranked players from the World Rankings. Those players are rewarded with the deepest starting position in the Championship Bracket due to finishing the highest placed from the several hundred lead in events throughout the year.

Seeds #5-#8 are awarded to the 3rd-6th highest ranked players from the World Rankings. They are seeded in midway through the Upper Bracket.

Seeds #9-#20 are awarded to the 7th-18th highest ranked players from the World Rankings. They matchup against each other in Round 1 of the Upper Bracket, seeded highest vs lowest.

To secure an Upper Bracket seeded position, players must be an OSC Elite Rewards Club member or hold a Guest Pass.

3. Qualify into the Lower Bracket:

12 players can advance into the Championship Bracket Lower Bracket via the Challenger Bracket stage.

There are 5 Challenger Brackets, each awards between 2-3 qualification places into the final Championship Bracket. There are Open and OSCE Only Challenger Brackets.

To be eligible to compete in either Open or OSCE Challenger Brackets, players must have played in at least 1 event during the yearly season/be listed in the current World Rankings.

Eligible players can try multiple Challenger Brackets until they qualify. A 33rd place cash prize is awarded to all OSC Elite Reward Club members who participate and don’t advance further.

World Championship participation is a recorded stat in the SC2 Hall of Fame!
